And this is week four of the Summer of Mentorships series where we go back and we've re-listened

to conversations with women of faith, amazing mentors who are going to help us in our walk

with God and today's conversation is with Susan C.

I think that that intentional part comes in when we recognize that there's going to be

some type of triggers, something's going to happen or something's not going to happen,

maybe that we expected.

And then there's our response to it and that gap in between that trigger and that response

is where we get to bring in that intentional parenting that I talk about.

It's where we get to make a conscious choice of what will preach the gospel in this moment.

What is it that we can do that most honor God in this moment?

Which what would most build a connection with our child in this moment?

And let's choose that thing because our emotions just want to go, you know, they just want

to go run wild and do their own thing.

But we get to really be aware in that moment that I don't have to have a knee-jerk reaction.

I could make a choice.
