Hey y'all, welcome back to the God Center Mom Podcast with me, Heather McFadden.

This is week two of the summer of mentorship and the armament of this week is Bonnie Griner.

Before I had the children, I was newly married and newly away from home and I felt alone

in my life and as I quickly had baby after baby, I felt overwhelmed and I could not find

an older woman to help me, to teach me, to give me tips to raise these younger children.

And so I basically found myself when my oldest was five and my youngest was about nine

months old.

I remember the exact day.

I went to bed and I was crying on my pillow.

My pillow was wet because I was thinking during that day I had spoken to each of the

children, each of the four boys, more like bark to them.

Did you make your bed?

Did you brush your teeth?

Did you put your plate away?

With our members specifically, there were two of the four.

I had not even hugged or kissed.

And I determined that that was not the kind of life I wanted or the kind of day I wanted.

And from that day on, things changed.

Well, things sure did change for Bonnie.

She went on to have four more children.

So that's a grand total of eight children, five boys, three girls.
