I'm Sebastian Payne. We're into the

gentle political season so we're doing something a little different. Over the

summer I'm sitting down with some interesting political figures who I think

will be shaping the political weather over the rest of the year.

Some of them you might be familiar with, others possibly not.

This week's guest is Lisa Nandy, the Labour MP for Wigan.

She grew up in Manchester and worked in the charity sector before entering

the House of Commons in the 2010 election. After serving on the Education Select

Committee and as a parliamentary aide to Tesser, she was promoted to Shadow Children's Minister.

After her party fell it to win the 2015 general election, she backed Andy Burnham in the

following leadership contest, but she was then promoted by Jeremy Corbyn to the front bench as the Shadow Energy

and Climate Sain Secretary.

She resigned in June 2016 following the EU referendum and the failed leadership coup against

the opposition leader.

Now she's one of Labour's most vocal voices on the challenges it faces

and it's provincial heartlands.
