From scripture, which everything Billy did

was teaching from scripture, but it's applying it

towards things in the world.

And this is one of the problems that we've had in the body of

Christ that we just deal with certain subjects and leave other things undone.

The Bible deals with everything. You know Bill Federer and David and Tim Barton are friends of mine and they're I mean

really gems they're full of American history, Bill Federal, world history.

And one of the things that they were teaching when I interviewed

David and Tim Barton on my television program,

we were talking about the Civil War, and of course the ministers in the South tried to use the Bible to justify slavery and they took examples like Abraham had slaves and other people and Paul told slaves

to obey their masters and things like this and so they took those scriptures to try and justify slavery.

And when the Civil War, when the South lost the Civil War, these ministers got together

and they decided that they were going to quit teaching on anything that affected you know

social issues because they had been basically beaten and defeated and so

they they said that they were going to just be evangelicals.

That's where the term evangelicals came from.

And they're only going to teach on things concerning heaven and hell

and about your personal relationship with the Lord.
