Summary

"We have had a lot of discussion on this podcast about the importance of states asserting their authority and recognizing their responsibility to push back against federal overreach. Well, today, I'm going to be having a discussion with the Attorney General of Virginia, who has been no stranger to taking the feds to court and winning. So, for the next hour, we are going to discuss taking the feds to court, parental rights, and why Jason Miyares has a particular disdain for communism.

0:49.1

and has done this at the state level and at the federal level.

0:52.6

Because my guest today is the Attorney General

0:55.6

of the Commonwealth of Virginia, Jason Mierrez. General, how are you doing today?

1:00.9

It's always odd when somebody calls me general because I think I look over my shoulder,

1:04.6

I expect a Marine staring over me. So I like to say I'm happily married with three daughters.

1:09.5

I may be a quote unquote general in the office, but I'm just a private at home. Yeah. So, but it's great to be with you, Nick. No, well, thank you very much. So we would give the audience a little background too. Full disclosure. I have known Jason Mierrez since before he was the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Virginia. In fact, we came into the Virginia House of Delegates together as freshmen.

1:30.0

And I want you to give the audience a little bit of background, but I'm going to,

1:33.8

here's the way I'm going to tee this up.

1:37.2

You and I both are not big fans of Karl Marx.

1:42.2

And I've spoken a lot about this, and I have just tried to just take it down philosophically
