message is helpful. Well, so we're talking tonight about suicide. Worldwide, there's one death by

suicide every 40 seconds. In the United States, approximately 105 Americans die by suicide

every single day. Suicide is the second leading cause of death among 15 to 24 year olds in the

U.S. That's you guys. It's the second leading cause of death. It's only second to unintentional injury.

The suicide rate among you guys, young adults, ages 15 to 24, has tripled since the 1950s.

One in 12 college students has written a suicide plan at some point.

Nearly half of those considering suicide do not tell anyone.

Two-thirds of students struggling do not seek treatment.

85% of college students report having been overwhelmed by everything they have needed to do in the last year.

About one third of the United States students, about one third of U.S. students had difficulty

functioning as a result of depression in the last 12 months.

Sixty and a half percent of students reported feelings of loneliness in the last 12 months. 60.5% of students reported feelings of loneliness in the last year.

49.5% of students reported feelings of hopelessness in the last year.

So here's what I'm going to ask.

We're just going to all start tonight with this one reality.

Not one person here is above suicide. Not one person here is above suicide. No one here is immune to feelings of hopelessness or loneliness or

anxiety or depression or suicidal tendencies. No one here is immune to that.

And so here's how we're going to start tonight.

I'm going to ask you to kind of lay down your pride
