Hello, I'm John Eldridge and welcome back to the Ransomed Heart

podcast. We are in the midst of a conversation on

suffering and what we're doing is sharing with you some excerpts from a recent

teaching that I did on the subject of suffering.

We share this in hopes that it will help you to kind of round out your understanding of

breakthrough in life and healing and the abundance that we are meant to enjoy in Christ.

And so we're going to continue excerpting the teaching on suffering.

We grieve it.

This is how we honor our own hearts and how we honor the fact that the suffering is real.

making a pillow for my heart.

On them it rested.

There is a place for grief. I am blown away by the description of

Jesus's prayer life in Hebrews. I think it's chapter 4 where it says that

Jesus's prayer life was described as loud cries and tears.

Loud cries and tears. You know we read about those moments where he goes to the mountain to pray,

and there's a number of them.

Jesus went away to a lonely place to pray,
