We are in the midst of a conversation on suffering and what we're doing is sharing with you

some excerpts from a recent teaching that I did on the subject of suffering.

We share this in hopes that it will help you to kind of round out your understanding of

breakthrough and life and healing and the abundance that we are meant to enjoy in Christ.

And yet the reality of the pain and the sorrow and the affliction that are also part of

our sojourn here on Earth and certainly a part of the

great battle in which we all live and so we're going to continue excerpting the

teaching on suffering.

We had a friend of ours in town call and ask if we could pray for her, Stacy and I. We had some sense of what was going on.

We knew that there had been some hard things in their lives, but we didn't really know what she wanted

prayer for. We said, sure, yeah, come on over. And so she came over a Sunday afternoon,

and wow, you could just see the disappointments

and the heartache, and you could see the confusion,

and you could also see just shutting down.

You could just like the lights just going off in a building.

You could just see her shutting down and so we prayed and we asked Jesus to come and I actually didn't want to hear a whole lot of the story because I didn't want to bring my interpretation to it. I wanted to get Jesus quickly into the scenario.

Okay, so we just said, can we just, let's just begin with prayer.
