You're born in a modest Midwestern town.

Your dad returns from the war to a factory job, but he dreams of a

better future for you. You do pretty well at school. A teacher tells you you've got a gift for

numbers. After you graduate from high school, you go to the nearby state college and major in

accounting. To save money you live at home with your folks. You meet your wife in

the college library, she wants to be a teacher. You court the old-fashioned

the old-fashioned way walking along the river going to football games

holding hands at the movies.

When you graduate you get hired by a local bank starting as a teller.
