Well, one a day in British politics, Nicola Sturgeon has resigned and you're listening to

0:05.0

the Times Red Box Politics podcast. It's a special edition of the podcast today. We're going

0:09.6

to give you a roundup of the reaction to Nicola Sturgeon's resignation as it happened live

0:16.0

on Times Radio. First, we heard from Alex Massey, Times and Spectates Economist in Scotland

0:22.1

and are very own maturely. You're asking, Matt, whether Sturgeon had SM peaked in the last

0:27.7

week or two, which is as ever a very pressing question. But did you expect this perhaps inevitable

0:34.5

conclusion to come quite so quickly? I'll tell you what, it was interesting. Alex was on the show

0:39.7

last week where we were asking exactly that question. It was after Nicola Sturgeon had that

1:24.5

high base. And it felt like something was happening. But as it was with all these things,

1:29.8

you don't have to be the wally you predict. Well, I think you're going to reside next week.

1:33.2

So you don't believe it because she survived for such a long time.

1:38.2

Alex, you've been banging this drum for quite some time that Nicola Sturgeon's golden age was

1:43.6

over and that the the the rot was perhaps setting into her administration. But did you expect it to come

1:50.6

to this sort of end quite this quickly? Not this week, no. I mean, you know, I mean time is the
