And that's because this past week, some of our favorite movies became widely available for the first time, not just as repertory release favorites or home Blu-ray purchases, but readily accessible in streaming format.

This is the year that Japan's beloved Studio Ghibli fully enters the online age.

Fans of this podcast are probably fairly familiar with at least some of Studio Ghibli's work,

like the Oscar winner Spirited Away or the unbeatable children's classic My Neighbor Tortoro.

Serious animation fans have probably dug deeper into the Ghibli library,

into the breakout environmental fairy tale drama Princess Mononake,

or maybe the Disney Home video releases of Castle in the Sky or Kiki's delivery service.
