Friends, today we're looking at Romans 15 verses 30 through 33, so let's ask the Lord to teach us as we read and study His Word together.

Lord God, we want to understand what you have to say to us today about this subject of prayer.

Instruct us, guide us, and equip us to be faithful

in this vital discipline. We ask it in Jesus' name. Amen. Okay, friends, Romans 15 30 through 33,

the Apostle Paul has been giving a little bit of a peek into the background of his life, telling

what ministry activity he's been involved in, what ministry activity he has on the horizon,

and enlisting these readers, these Roman believers, in that work together with him. And here in

verse 30, he's going to enlist them, especially in a new way,

even though they're not physically together. Look what he says. I appeal to you, brothers,

by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the spirit, to strive together with me in your prayers

to God on my behalf, that I may be delivered from the unbelievers in

Judea, and that my service for Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints, so that by God's will,

I may come to you with joy and be refreshed in your company. May the God of peace be with you all. Amen. So Paul is referring

to something he described to them in the previous episode of the morning mindset. So if you didn't

hear that, go back and listen. But what he's saying is he's taking a gift of physical relief

to poor people in Jerusalem.
