A new round of strikes. I'm Lisa Lacerra. Fox News. U.S. Central Command says they're designed to further degrade Iran's military capabilities.

Earlier, the military took out an observation tower used to target ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

The tower, according to the U.S. gave Iran the ability to track and menace shipping in the Gulf of Oman,

therefore shipping the transit of the strait. Central Command says the destruction weakens the

Revolutionary Guard's ability to coordinate attacks on commercial shipping.

Bonder Kamir and Bonder Abbas, both saw road bridges and rail bridges destroyed.

The goal is to disrupt the ability of the Iranians to resupply and attack.

Fox is Mike Tobin and Tel Aviv. Meanwhile, Iran continues to attack its neighbors with a revolutionary

guard claiming it's destroyed Pafran's main artificial intelligence center with ballistic missiles

and drones. An emergency declared in parts of Texas after deadly flooding killed at least two people.

This major disaster declaration includes 28 counties. It's the counties that have been

hardest hit by these devastating floodwaters. More counties can and will be added as needed.

Governor Craig Abbott, a week of downpours dumped more than two feet of rain in some

spots.

The rain is expected to taper off, but another round of showers worsening already swollen rivers

and flooding communities near the border with Mexico.

In the Midwest, Great Lakes and Northeast, it's another day of smoky skies from Canadian wildfires.

The source of all this, of course, thousands of miles away from hundreds of wildfires that continue to burn in Canada right now, sending smoke into the Midwest and Northeast.

Health officials warn the smoke is especially dangerous for kids, older adults, and people with breathing problems.

Saturday in much of the U.S. but storms could help move some of the smoke out.
