Well, some of you all might have heard this story before, but when I was in sixth grade,

my brother and I went to the airport in Dallas. We went to Dallas Love Field,

and we were planning to get on an airplane to fly to Austin.

And my cousin, I get it, my cousin, who was in charge of us,

took us to the airport, and it was really rainy that day,

and so he was single.

Like, he didn't have nice things.

That's not a statement about all single people.

But at least at that point in his life, it was not a high priority to have a nice umbrella, all right?

Because he didn't need someone close to him that he would need to cover. So his umbrella was just this janky old thing that didn't even have a handle on it.

It was just the metal end.

And it was raining outside.

And so he got us into the airport and he got us into the terminal.

And as we were waiting for our plane to board, my cousin turned to me and he asked me if I had something to write with. So it's just this

freak deal where I'm bent down looking into my backpack for something to write with. And as I'm

looking down, my cousin throws that janky umbrella on the ground and it pops open and that metal

ends shoot straight up and hits me in my right eye and uh

it was like ugly crying in that moment like cried i would say like a little girl but that might be
