For many Christians around the world, attending church has become nothing more than a Sunday morning exercise.

But the Christian life is far more than that.

I'm convinced a church is not just a gathering of people who sit and listen to one person preach.

It's not that at all.

As important as the message is, it is only part of what happens in the local church.

In addition to a pulpit ministry, there is an essential ministry that occurs on the personal level in each Christian's life, or perhaps, I should say, should occur.

One person's life touches the life of another, who then touches the lives of people in his or her sphere of influence,

those whom the originator would never have even known.

To make things even more exciting,

those recipients in turn touch the lives of others also.

Dr. Dwayne Lytton, former president of Wheaton College, calls this the endless chain

Now, why do I say all of this with such conviction?
