You know, one of the things that I find most extraordinary, the most fascinating,

most troubling also about the conservative or right-wing messaging machine,

is how they take reality and twist it into something that isn't reality.

They'll take a grain of truth and turn it into a massive lie.

For example, in the United States, we are not a 100% white country, right?

White people are a little more than half of this country.

We've got a substantial number of Hispanics and African-Americans in the country, Asians,

Native Americans, make up roughly the other half, a little less than the other half.

And so attempts to recognize that and create opportunities for everyone to participate,

you know, to hire people who aren't just white people are like a good thing.

This strengthens us. Diversity is strength.

This is a premise that you see, I mean, you learn it in biology, for example.

You know, diverse ecosystems are less likely to crash.

Here's the simple reality that a lot of white people who have held power in this country for

400 years are on this continent are starting to say, you know, there's never going to be a short
