Now today we're gonna get more practical. We're talking about irrigation systems, how to water your garden appropriately.

Should you be using a soaker hose? Should you be using drip irrigation? Should be

storing rainwater, how to water in a way that conserves your time, conserves your

energy, conserves your energy,

conserves your water bill, and gets your plants

well-watered and growing the way that you want them to grow.

So let's go ahead and get into it.

Now before we talk about that, the first thing we have to talk about is it really does depend on what you're growing and the way that you've planted them.

So let's say you've got leafy greens,

other shallow rooted plants, onions, etc.

You can simplify watering by planting crops that prefer similar watering strategies together.

So onions and shallow rooted plants, you can just water them by hand and it's very easy to do that

because you can just go straight over them with a watering can and all of your shallow

rooted plants have been watered pretty quickly, pretty easily, pretty effectively.

Now if you're growing stuff that prefers a little bit more time, a little bit more space in the

garden, and prefers a little bit more water, something like a

bean, something like corn, something like tomatoes, you may want to go with a soaker hose, you may want to go

with drip irrigation or even ditches. That's an interesting method that I haven't experimented with,

but it's something that I've seen talked about.

You can't rely, at least I personally cannot rely too much on my rain.
