Summary
As a companion piece to The Soho Strangler series, I've included some in-depth analysis of each aspect. Such as; the demonising of the victims, the reliability of eyewitness testimony, false articles, public lies, other prostitute murders, how even a suspect's statements can be twisted by the press, as well as the timings of Norman Stephenson. This is NOT essential listening.
This episode is about other prostitute murders

| 0:00.0 | Welcome to SoHo Strangler Week by Murdwell. To accompany the series, here's a few |
| 0:12.2 | extra details from the police files and the court records, to age your enjoyment and |
| 0:17.4 | maybe even help you crack the case. This episode is about how commonplace the murder |
| 0:24.6 | of prostitutes is. It's kind of interesting when you look at something like Jack the |
| 0:30.1 | Ripper, if you didn't know true crime and you looked at the amount of coverage it gets, |
| 0:36.8 | you would assume that that is the only time in history when prostitutes were murdered. |
| 0:43.2 | But unfortunately, that's far from true. 37% of those murdered in the United Kingdom |
| 0:49.0 | are associated with sex trade. So if you are a prostitute or an escort girl or anything |
| 0:53.8 | like that, it's highly likely that you will be a victim of murder. But also because of |
| 1:01.0 | the clandestine nature of the sex trade, it's less likely that your murder will ever |
| 1:08.9 | be solved. So it's unfortunately, it's incredibly common. It's too more common than any other |
| 1:15.2 | member of society except those who are under the age of one. Unfortunately, they are the |
| 1:22.7 | category of victim that is the highest. They're more murdered than any other section of society. |
| 1:30.1 | That wasn't even good English there, but you know what I'm talking about. Second is prostitutes. |
| 1:35.6 | And it's kind of tragic in a way that I hate to use the word fall and women. I'm using |
| 1:42.0 | air quotes around that. But no one seems to care about a murdered prostitute. You can |
| 1:47.4 | kind of see it with Jack the Ripper where the way these women have been kind of cast aside |
| 1:51.1 | and all we care about is their name, age, collection of injuries. And they are really |
| 1:55.5 | just a prop in order to guide us towards the mystery of who this serial killer could be. |
| 2:02.2 | But in a way, when you look at it and you can kind of see that with, you can kind of |
| 2:08.8 | see that with the earlier victims of Jack the Ripper and you can see that the same with |
| 2:12.4 | the so-or-strangler as well with French Fifi that if her death could have been entirely |
