Not 300 years ago, when everyone believed in such fantastic notions, but right now in this enlightened day,

a Mongoose that is alleged to talk, read, and claimed to be 84 years old, has been solemnly investigated and a whole book just printed about him.

It is called The Haunting of Cash and Scab, published by Methuen London.

The book itself is a careful report of all the activities of the Talking Mongoose by Harry Prince, President of the London Society for Cycle Research,

a careful thorough investigation of psychic phenomena and RS Lambert, equally able spook detective.

After setting out these activities in full, as told them by the family with whom, the unusual Mongoose is said to have taken up its quarters,

they give the results of their own observations and questionings.

They agree it is a truly extraordinary case of something, but they didn't see nor hear the Mongoose.

Cash and Scab on the Isle of Man is probably the most dreary isolated farmstead in all England today.
