The paranormal 60 is closing in on our 100th episode,

and tonight our bonus episode is Strange Legends and Folklore of Winter.

You know, this is the time of year when you drive around and see the blinking, beautiful lights,

the smiley faces of your neighbors, maybe the frowny faces if you live in Minnesota

and you're snowblowing for the 14th time today.

But that's beside the point.

This is a holiday predicated on a festive moment, on an imaginary ride into a wonderland where anything could happen. A magical world actually opens up to us, and it happens once a year.

But there is a dark side to the holidays.

Winter months are filled with bizarre tales and stories of weird spirits, odd tales of Santa Claus,

bizarre superstitions, strange weather predictions, Cranpus, the Christmas monster,

stories of little people, New Year's Eve rituals, the deadly

windigo, and numerous other holiday traditions for the darkest days of the year.

Tonight is the first night, the first day of winter solstice, or as we like to say here in

Minnesota, oh God, not again. Please, please please God, not again. We'll be back with
