Hello my friends. I hope you're doing well out there. Good morning. Good afternoon. Good evening.

Whatever time of day it is, welcome to the morning mindset. If you're new to the

morning mindset, I want to especially welcome you. My name is Carrie Green. I'm a

retired pastor who just can't seem to retire because teaching the word of God

is so important to me. And encouraging people in their faith day to day is so

important to me. That's what the morning mindset is about. Are you ready to get your

mind aligned with the truth of God? Let's go. We are working our way through the

book of Acts, which is a history of the early church. And here we are in chapter

16 beginning in verse number one. And we've been following the story of a

man named Paul, who previously was a Jewish Pharisee, a very strict adherent to

the law of the Jews. And he became a believer in Jesus Christ. And he turned a

180 degrees. He's really passionate for what the Lord is doing in his life. And

he's become so to speak, a missionary spreading the message of Jesus all

around the region. And so we're going to pick up in chapter 16 verse number

one. It says Paul came also to Derbe and to Listera. A disciple was there named

Timothy, the son of a Jewish woman who was a believer, but his father was a

Greek. Okay, so stop for a moment. Let's make sure we understand this Timothy is

already a believer in Jesus Christ. He's a disciple who was already there in one

of these cities, ethnically speaking, his mother is Jewish, and his father is

Greek, continuing in verse two. He was well spoken of by the brothers at

Listera and Iconium. Paul wanted Timothy to accompany him. So it sounds like

Paul invites Timothy to join him in his group. He says, and he took him and
