We start with the holdup in peace talks between the U.S. and Iran.

Officials familiar with the matter say fueling the uncertainty is the Strait of Hormuz blockade by the U.S.

They say Iran wants the blockade to be lifted before another round of direct negotiations take

place. Iran's foreign minister says the blockade of Iranian ports amounts to an act of war and

violates the two-week ceasefire agreement, which President Donald Trump says expires tomorrow evening.

White House officials say that's among the reasons why the U.S. delegation, including

Vice President J.D. Vance,

and key negotiators Steve Wickhoff and Jared Kushner, haven't left the U.S. for Pakistan.

Sources tell CNN they're meeting at the White House to discuss the path forward.

In an interview with CNBC, Trump said he expects to continue bombing Iran if there's no deal.

Congresswoman Sheila Sherfellis McCormick has resigned from the House of Representatives today.

Had she not stepped down, she would have likely faced a vote this week on the House floor to remove her.

She decided to announce her resignation, which was just read on the House floor because the House Ethics Committee was about to recommend what sanctions to move ahead with in the aftermath of finding her guilty in its own investigation

into misconduct, largely involving her use of funds.

There's allegations that she stole $5 million and COVID relief money that diverting that to herself

rather than it being used for its proper use.

She has denied all of that, but she's being facing federal charges in that case.

She's pleaded not guilty in the federal criminal case.
