Hello creatives. I'm Joanna Penn. And this is episode number 530 of the podcast. And it is Sunday

the 31st of January 2021 as I record this.

And it's certainly very strange that it's February this week. The pandemic seems to have this

weird effect on time. It's both super slow and going on forever and yet also speeding by

really fast. I don't know if you're feeling the same way. But here as I walk along

the canal again and again, the snowdrops are starting to appear and the crocuses are coming

through in the botanical gardens. And I really hope that spring is coming soon to rescue us

from this bleak midwinter. But there we go. So in today's show, I'm talking to Sarah Painter

about stop worrying, start selling, change your author mindset, which will definitely inspire you

to think more creatively about your author career and how you think about marketing, as well as

embracing your ambition. And we talk about lots of things. I know you're going to find it interesting.

So that is coming up in publishing news well spotify did launch their audio books this week users had a pop-up on the

screen with public domain audio books recorded by actors including forest rittaker and

hillary swank and of, they're all included in the

subscription. And Spotify also became the world's leading podcast platform in 2020, reportedly 42%

of podcast listeners, Apple at 32%. So that's interesting, as reported on the drum. So I'm definitely

investigating how we can get our audio books onto Spotify. There is a company called Zebrolution,

which does, does it in one way. But I think I want to wait to see what Spotify do themselves.
