Right now, I am recording this at about 2 3030 in the afternoon in Tewa Lands. Right now there is a call to action for a prayerful

protest that is happening in front of the Rio Reba County complex. is spending over 100,000 $100,000 to resurrect a statue of violent colonizer,

Juan Onyote, despite it being taken down by the people in June 2020.

There are many organizations involved right now at this point including Three Sisters

Collective, the Coalition Stop Violence Against Native Women. this point

violence against Native women and Indian collective on top of other

local community members and organizations of local to northern New Mexico. and

Ria Rea Rea County Commissioner Alex Naranjo and County Manager Jeremy Mayestas

plan to resurrect a statue of colonizer Juan de Onnate at 10 a.m. Thursday morning, September 28th. That's tomorrow morning from when this is being recorded.

The statue was removed from its location in

on June 15th, 2020 after indigenous people and organizations demanded an

end to the racist monuments across New Mexico and the greater US.

Join us at 9 a.m. on September 28th to prayerfully protest the county's

blatant disregard for the will of the people.

We call this a prayerful protest because our prayers are in the liberation of our relatives

and human and non-human from systems that continue to kill us.

Not to mention Rio Reba is spending more than $100,000 to do this.

When Espiniola and Rio Reba County are in the midst of a

fentanyl epidemic and a houselessness epidemic. Right now our demands are respect for tribal sovereignty, accessible housing, and the

fentanyl epidemic, N MMWR, and, N, Bortertown Violence,

and do not resurrect Onyate.
