Summary

In today's episode I want to encourage you to stop trying to be perfect. Stop trying to keep up with everyone you see on social media. Stop nit-picking every little thing about who you are and remember that YOUR journey is unique to you. I’m sharing my experience battling perfectionism, lessons I’ve learned over the last few years as I've shared my life on social media, and I’m even making the argument that it’s ok to be mediocre. Yes, it's ok to not be the best at everything you do! I hope you tune in.

Well, hi there, friends, and welcome back to the Good Day podcast. We are on episode two of season

0:07.1

three. And I have to tell you, before we jump into this, I have felt just so good lately,

0:13.5

knowing that the podcast is back, that we're doing this, that this is happening. I'm trying to

0:18.3

adjust my little screen over my phone. So if you listen to

0:24.5

season one and two, I mentioned a couple of times that I filmed or recorded those episodes in my

0:30.9

son's closet. It was a very glamorous closet, by the way. No, but really, I did. I recorded season one, season two in my son's

0:40.3

closet. Just this tiny little closet. And the reason I did that was because it's carpeted. It's a small

0:46.9

space. It's kind of soundproof. And I just kind of felt like it was a good place to record. So I

0:53.2

didn't get a lot of background noise but

0:55.3

season three here where things are moving up I am sitting at a desk I'm looking out my window here

1:01.8

my office like it's we're more professional this go around so um with that though I hope that the

1:08.7

audio is okay because there could be more background noise

1:11.4

I have this little screen that I kind of put between my mic and my mouth essentially so there's

1:17.3

no you know harsh noises but anyway today you guys I'm I'm excited I'm excited to chat about

1:23.9

perfectionism in this episode I titled this one stop, Stop Trying to Be Perfect. And I'm really

1:29.5

directing this at myself as I kind of talk through a few different points. I want to make. This one

1:34.7

might be kind of more of a short and sweet episode. But I'm really directing this at myself and

1:41.0

trying to kind of, I guess, give myself a little pep talk because I have felt lately just

1:46.0

some self-critical tendencies some tendencies to be very hard on myself and I just feel like

1:54.0

everybody's trying to be perfect look perfect act perfect you know I don't know I've just I've just

2:00.5

been it's been on my mind lately

2:01.9

because it's something that I actually feel really passionate about. And even if you're listening
