Summary
#330: The more successful you get, the easier life gets…right?
In our final installment of the Breaking the Rules series, today I’m welcoming back the one, the only, Tricia Lee, real estate powerhouse for a truly activating and inspiring conversation about what it takes to truly reach your potential.
From choosing discomfort on purpose to breaking into new rooms and establishing new versions of yourself, Tricia shares why expansion requires ego checks, bold moves, and a willingness to stop playing it safe.
We talk about:
- How to intentionally put yourself in rooms where no one knows you to push yourself and expand your opportunities.
- The strategies Tricia used to build the emotional muscle to tolerate discomfort, criticism, and setting ego aside while growing her brand and career.
- What it really takes to break into new spaces when you’re already successful in one lane.
- What’s required of you to level up to your fullest potential.
- Why growth never gets easier and how to develop the resilience needed to keep growing.
- How bold preparation, relationship-building, and “act as if” energy turn ambition into real, tangible results.

| 0:11.7 | Welcome back to She's So Lucky. |
| 0:13.6 | So if you have been listening all month, you know that all January long we have been talking about breaking the rules to have our luckiest year yet in |
| 0:22.3 | 26. I want to give you a little bit of a backstory as to how I came up with that theme. If you |
| 0:28.1 | were listening to the show about one month ago, we re-aired an episode that originally aired in |
| 0:33.5 | 2024 with Tricia Lee. And that episode is one of my favorites that I've ever recorded. It's one |
| 0:39.8 | that I personally refer back to whenever I need to like remember who I am, feel inspired, |
| 0:45.8 | feel remotivated. So I thought, okay, this is a good message going into the new year. |
| 0:50.6 | And as I was thinking more about the takeaways that I get from that episode, really the theme that we talked about around not playing fair and around showing up fully as ourselves is one of my favorite parts that really resonated fully. And that's what inspired this whole breaking the rules theme. And then I was like, you know what? Let's bring Trisha back. Let's just have Trisha back on the show. So I am so excited |
| 1:12.6 | to welcome Trisha Lee back to the show. I'm so happy to be here. Thank you for joining me again. |
| 1:18.0 | Also in my best podcast experiences as well. Really? I'm so glad to hear that. And so much has |
| 1:24.0 | happened since. We recorded that back in 2024. That was right after season one of owning Manhattan. Now we're right after season two, which just aired last month. Yeah. A lot of happens. Still like where I think this is a month that we've been out now, finally, 30 days. Yeah. Exactly. So it's all still very fresh. So I'm really excited to pick up on everything that you've been up to since our first chat. I am too. |
| 1:48.6 | I would love to start off by hearing a rule that you are interested in breaking or that you would like to break in 2020. |
| 1:55.3 | Oh, I love that. The first thing that comes to mine for that is probably not finding myself in spaces and places that I don't value, that I don't value. |
| 2:09.7 | Yeah, that would be a good rule. |
| 2:11.0 | Start leaving and exiting or saying no to things that you just don't value and stop filling so much social pressure to do things |
| 2:18.4 | just because I don't fall a victim to that very often, but I want to do even less of it this |
| 2:23.5 | year, I would say. Because I feel like so much of what we do we're not really intentional about. |
| 2:29.9 | And for me, like I am like, am I going to really gain anything from being in that space? Like, is that the right room for me? Is that the right activity for me, like, I am I going to really gain anything from being in that space? |
| 2:34.4 | Like, is that the right room for me? Is that the right activity for me? Like, time is so finite for me and like, I just don't have a lot of it that now I'm like, but I don't want to be there. And there's no social pressure for me to be there. There is, but I don't have to succumb to that. I would say the biggest rule I want to break from here on out is really assessing what rooms make sense for me and not being in the rooms that don't. Like leaving immediately or not going at all. No, I love that. That's something that I would love to embody more of this. Yeah. And I'm really big on not doing things I don't want to do, like, because you're not going to get the best out of me anyways. But I was thinking about it for the top of the year. I'm like, I'm going to be really intentional about what I spend my time doing this year and saying no to more so that I have more time to say yes to the good things that I want to do and the things that are important to me. I want my time to be a reflection of what I value. So good. How do you decide what to say no to? Is it a feeling? Do you have maybe like a personal set of criteria? What does that look like? It depends, honestly. Like in work, I consider my brand. I don't consider myself. So if it's a good fit for the brand and it makes sense for the brand, then it's a yes. |
| 3:41.9 | And then if it doesn't, it's a no. But personally, I can kind of definitely say no to almost |
| 3:47.0 | everything. Because personally, I'm like not that interesting. So there's no problem with the |
