you actually wrote a whole book basically telling people to stop diagnosing their partners.

So I'm so curious, what was the moment in your therapy practice when you realized,

oh shit, this has gotten completely out of control?

You know, it was a slow build of people bringing these terms in more and more,

but it was a couple weeks in a row where

I had people either calling me separately to let me know that they had diagnosed their partner

with narcissism or borderline, or people coming into like a first session saying, just so you know,

the problem is that they are bipolar and they're super toxic and I missed all

their red flags. And I realized that I was spending so much time with people talking them out

of these terms as opposed to doing the actual work of therapy. And then as soon as I saw that,

I just saw it everywhere.
