motorcycles have changed a lot over the years.

Change, of course, always ruffles feathers, but it's exciting at the same time.

People respond differently to these changes.

You have your early adopters who get right in there as soon as the thing comes out.

There's always the people who would rather stick with what they know and they resist change.

Honestly, I think I've lived in both camps at

different times. Technology, though, it's everywhere. And motorcycles are no different. We're seeing

more electronics, more computers, more systems that manage how our bikes work behind the scenes.

I think we're sort of getting used to it, at least from an operator standpoint, but one thing that still seems to live in the misinformation arena is Canbus.

Canbus systems sounds mysterious, maybe even a little intimidating. I mean, if you've ever had a light pop up, the error light on your dash or a warning message

you didn't fully understand, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about here. Some riders believe

that Canbus and computers mean that we've lost our ability to modify our bikes electrically,

that adding accessories, even something as simple as auxiliary lights, is difficult or even impossible on some

motorcycles. Yet, nothing could be farther from the truth. In fact, the more sophisticated

these systems become, the more opportunity they actually give us. I'm Jim Martin. This is
