We have this image of perfection that's in the garden and it will be returned and restored.

But right here we're in the in between. And so it is hard. We're like we're made for

for for perfection but it's not perfect. And so it's like wait what were we made for again?

Yeah I need to remember that.

Hey everyone and welcome to the Christie Wright Show. I'm so excited because today we are talking

about how to remember what's true. And let's be honest in our world right now that is a good

thing to know. And then I get to sit down with my good friend and dove award-winning artist

and author Ellie Holkum. She is just beautiful and we're going to be talking about her new children's

book How to Remember. But first let's just talk about how we even do this. How do we remember

what's true in our life? Well let's start by giving you an example. I remember y'all being in high

school and of all the classes I took in high school there was one class and I think it was senior

year where we were being introduced into law. You know like how to be an attorney and how to learn

trials and law and how to read laws. Well there was one day where we were going to have a mock trial.

I remember the teacher divided the class into two sections. There was the defendant. There was the

person that was you know making the case and we each had a little note card. Well I was one of the

lawyers for this one side and I read the note card and the note card had exactly what happened at

the scene of the crime. Well the other class and the other attorneys they had a different note card

and they learned exactly what happened at the scene of the crime. Well I'm reading this information

and the car was coming over the hill and it was pouring down rain and it was really dark outside

and there were no street lights and and here's where the car hit them and here's what happened and

this is why they should not be at fault. Well I read this card and it's so clear that my client,

my client, isn't the right. They did not do anything wrong. They absolutely were in the right. So
