Well, good morning, TVC.

My name is Mitch Thompson and I am one of your church planters and in a month from today my wife and I are going to be jumping on a plane and flying to Johannesburg, South Africa to plant garden city church.

And so if we haven't had the privilege of meeting you yet, we'll be out in the lobby afterwards and we'd love to meet you and tell you a little bit more about what God is doing in South Africa.

And this morning we're going to be reading from the book of Joshua chapter 4

verses 1 to 7 it says this when all the nation had finished passing over the Jordan the Lord said to Joshua

take 12 men from the people from each tribe a man and command them saying take 12 stones from out here of the midst of the Jordan

from the very place where the priest's feet stood firmly and bring them over with you and lay them down in the place where you large tonight.

Then Joshua called the 12 men from the people of Israel whom he had appointed, a man from each tribe.

And Joshua said to them,

Pass on before the arc of the Lord, your God

into the midst of the Jordan,

and take up each of you as stone upon his shoulder according to the number of the tribes of the people of Israel,

that this may be a sign among you.

When your children ask in time to come, what do these stones mean to you then you shall tell them that the

waters of the Jordan were cut off before the arc of the covenant of the Lord

when it passed over the Jordan the waters of the Jordan were cut off so these stones shall be to the people of

Israel a memorial forever and this is the word of the Lord. Thanks to God.
