Actor Stephen Young enjoys testing himself with a wide array of roles, but trying something

new can be nerve-wracking, as it was when he was cast as a struggling immigrant in the

2020 film, Minari.

That was the first script that I read that I could relate to in a cultural way that I was like,

wow, this is just about these people existing.

I was definitely scared.

If I had fear, my fear was that I was going to totally ruin this project.

Turns out he didn't.

In fact, Young got an Oscar nomination for that performance. Now his limited series

beef is something completely different, and it's getting rave reviews. Yon talks about why he and his

beef co-star, Ali Wong, broke out in hives after production wrapped, and how Netflix approached

the A24 limited series with an offer that was too good to turn down.

I am joined by my partner in banter, Matt Bellany. Hello, Matt. Hi there. So Matt, as you

know, I wrote a quite a lengthy story about Amazon, the streaming service,

and it was many more words than I even expected to write and could have been even longer.

It has also gone much more viral than I anticipated.

I thought this would be a story for Hollywood, but it is getting tweeted about in multiple

foreign languages and seems to be going

all over the place. I'm just going to say, what was your takeaway? Because I was so deep in it for

so long that I'm a little bit confused about where I would put the spotlight first.
