What's going on everyone? Welcome back to the epic gardening podcast. We're here with

0:04.0

Stephen Cornette of Nature's Always Right, and today we're talking about a big move

0:09.0

that he made. He recently got his first greenhouse set up and operational on his farm.

0:15.6

So it was really cool to see him build it over the course of a couple weeks.

0:18.9

But what we're going to talk about in today's show is a little bit of the details of that build out how it worked how you might

0:25.4

apply something like that to your own house if you're looking to do a greenhouse but

0:28.8

also why did he get the greenhouse and what is the main reason that he's using it and what's he growing inside?

0:35.4

So without further ado, let's let Stephen come in and share a little bit about the greenhouse.

0:39.9

Hey everybody, glad to be back again on the podcast today so yeah this greenhouse has been a huge

0:45.7

upgrade for my small farm and it's a bootstrap farmer ten foot by twenty foot greenhouse

0:51.5

it's made from all galvanized fence posts actually. And what's

0:56.8

cool about this kit is you bend the bars yourself. So it makes a little bit

1:02.0

cheaper to build it.

1:03.4

And then, of course, it's, you know, the greenhouse plastic

1:05.3

goes over the top.

1:06.5

And the idea behind it was so that I could have a completely

1:10.0

climate controlled area at all times of the year. And because I live in San Diego, you know, our

1:16.4

temperatures are not that extreme. You know, we go up to about 100 degrees in the summer,

1:21.7

down to about 32 at the coldest in the winter. So basically with

1:27.1

the plastic and utilizing 50% shade cloth in the summer I'll be able to can really control those temperatures. I can

1:34.4

roll up the sides of my greenhouse, so there's plenty of ventilation and airflow to keep a really

1:40.3

good temperature in there. So one of the big components that I added on to my farm this year was growing micro-greens.
