All right, welcome to the Jim Acosta show. It's another day that ends in Y. And Donald Trump's salt on American democracy. Tonight, he says he plans to tour D.C. with the National Guard. Now that he's taken over the nation's capital, I'm reporting to you live from Occupied, D.C. And if you think that sounds like hyperbole, listen to this. The Associated Press, ladies and gentlemen, describing it this way.

They're calling it occupied Washington, parts of the nation capital, they say, have started to look like occupied territory with massive military transport vehicles, dotting the city.

As you can see my big guest for the hour, Steve Schmidt, as always great to see you.

I think it's about 2,000 National Guard troops here in Washington now from a handful of Republican states. I was down

on the mall earlier today, you know, working on some reporting on all of this. You know,

you can see that they are descending. And I saw a growing number just outside the National African American History Museum.

And they don't seem to have much to do other than give Trump this show of force.

This is an appalling moment.

The use and abuse of the United States Army to frighten Americans and to be engaged in this type of performance theater.

But theatrical, though, it may be, right?

This is what fascism looks like if i had said in may of

twenty twenty four on on any of the corporate television networks that this would happen you would

have been labeled a nut. And yet, here we go.

Yeah.
