Mike Johnson from Louisiana is a historic figure now.

He is the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives.

He is a full-fledged religious fanatic, and he does not believe that the American people should be the ones to decide who is the President of the United States.

Mike Johnson is different than Kevin McCarthy.

McCarthy is a bundle of cynicism.

He believes in absolutely nothing but his own power.

He's nihilistic in that regard.

Now, extremism cannot flourish without cynicism,

just like a fish cannot survive without water.

Cynicism is a necessary ingredient

to bring a demagogic authoritarian movement to life.

And Kevin McCarthy was one of the most cynical men of this era.

He will always be remembered by history as the hollow man. Somebody so profoundly empty that weeks after he witnessed

his colleagues running for their lives, people barricaded on the chamber floors of the United States House of Representatives,

calling their loved ones and saying goodbye because they believed they were about to be killed

by an insurrectionist mob inspired by Trump.

He said that Trump was responsible.

But yet weeks later, he was in Mar-a-Lago doing CPR on Trump.

His cynicism brought Donald Trump back to life.

But Mike Johnson is not a cynic.

Mike Johnson is a fanatic.
