Professor of Government at Harvard University, formerly Master of Winthrop House.

Can't say that anymore, but...

Yeah, I must speak in December of 2015, I think that term is about to be retired.

The people objected to that term when you were

mastered with their house a few years ago? No, people would kind of giggle about

how old-fashioned Harvard was, but there was never any discussion of racial or

slavery echoes of it, so it was kind of an odd.

Masters have people who live in the residents to help them with their social obligations.

Those are called elves so I had know whether they're going to get

around to renaming those. I'm sure there'll be a big anti-elph movement here at

Harvard soon, you know. So international relations, American foreign policy, that's

what you've studied and

taught and written about with great distinction for many years.

Let's begin with the world.

I mean, it's a striking moment, what would be 25 years after the end of the Cold War.

Where do we stand?

Is it sort of what you would have expected?

You got into this when the Cold War were still going.
