AFC North and a lot of events in the AFC North to talk about some of which we're going to be hitting on today, Ben Rothesberger and Baker Mayfield and their futures, what's happening with both of those franchises so we'll get

into that with a deedy a bit later on.

But first welcome to the new year, Paul Burmeister.

My friend from NBC Sports, thanks for joining me and how are things?

Everything is good.

As you sit here and say, first for a show at twenty two I just have to shake my head here a little bit

uh but excited to be rolling into the new year and doing so talking a little football with you

well you know Paul I think one of the most interesting things is that, you know, sometimes there are things that you just don't see coming. And I don't refer to Antonio Brown. We'll touch on him a little bit later on. But, you know, if you would ask me at the start of this year to talk about sort of the teams that I loved this year.

One of the teams was the Cleveland Browns.

And now I think now that the Browns are out of the playoff race will not make the playoffs.

To me, everything is in question about the Cleveland Browns.

And I hate to start the podcast on a downer. But I think one of the big questions that a team has to answer this year,

the Brown's going to sign Baker Mayfield long term.

Just so that everybody understands,

Baker Mayfield is under contract for 2022 at 18.8 million dollars, which is the fifth year of his original rookie contract,

teams can opt to exercise the fifth year clause in a rookie's contract
