What prompted you to start a YouTube because YouTube started in like what 2005 I don't remember when you YouTube started, but in order to answer that question, I think we have to go even more back.

Even more back. Okay, take us all the way back there. Set the scene.

Okay, so in 2009 I did post my first YouTube video

but I'm gonna take you back because it's,

I'm sure you're gonna ask me about my career trajectory and it's very, very windy, so I just need to set up this stage and I always

mess this up so sorry in advance because as with life, right, everything kind of intersects and there is like things that happen things that you do that you

don't know what it's going to lead to but it all kind of matters and rounds out

the circle at the very end yeah it all comes from a circle always yeah okay so when I was a kid I knew I wanted to be a fashion designer. I would carry around a sketchbook with me and just draw all the time. I so dress for my barbies and then as I got older I designed

dresses for my friends for prom like it was like always a thing and so when I

told my parents hey I think I want to study design in college.

They were like, absolutely not.

Like you will either be a doctor, a lawyer, or a failure.

And for anyone who's listening, who't know my background I'm Chinese and

Vietnamese American and so within that culture being a doctor is a very honorable thing and so I ended up

being like okay I guess I'll listen to my parents I'm like I didn't

reach my rebellion phase until much later in life and so I went to school for

pre-med and just felt really hollow in my heart and so I ended up like I'm someone who

really just likes to be busy all the time and just find different outlets I just like I'd like that so anyway I was on

Craigslist because we remember Craigslist right and I was like oh let me find like a side

job and I saw that there was a listing for a Pilates instructor position now at this time I was not certified but I had been doing a lot of Marry Windsor Pilates DVDs

Do you remember those? No, but I remember like P9DX.
