Department senior advisor to the Secretary of State and before that the

Wall Street Journal editorial board. We come now to the question of NATO. The Baltic states Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, have been

telling people anyone who will listen, their ambassadors, their leadership,

anyone who will listen that we're next on Putin's shopping list.

I have no reason to disbelieve them, especially because Putin keeps saying I'm not going

to attack the Baltics.

I have learned that you pay a great deal of attention to

denial when it comes from a dictator, not too affirmative. They mean what they

say when they say we will attack. But the denials are deeply

questionable. Why deny? Why not say nothing? However, the barrage on Ukraine, the barrage on Russia, drone attacks,

underline something that is happening right now.

There's no resolution in Ukraine. There's no resolution in Ukraine there's no resolution in foreseeable

immediate future in other words another year of war Europe is showing strain

great strain with its prices, with its recessions, with its doubts, and

the rise of right-of-center parties that are against continuing support of Ukraine.

Mary, NATO will meet in July in Washington

and choose a new leader.

NATO will talk about resupplying Ukraine, but between now and July there are the European Union votes.
