I'm joined by Mary Kessel, Executive Vice President, Stevenson Incorporated,

former senior advisor to the Secretary of State,

before that, with the Wallster Journal editorial board based in Asia.

Mary, within these next days, will be testifying to the Committee on Oversight and Accountability,

James Comer's Committee, at the House of Representatives, on the subject of defending America

from the Chinese Communist Party political warfare. This in particular

Mary will be speaking to state. So we're going to go to state matters in Europe, not in Asia

first, in Europe, aware of the fact that there's a very, very big and exciting election coming up within days.

The French will vote on their legislature.

And the reason this vote is taking place is because the once popular and now besieged president,

Emmanuel McCrone called the election following the European Union's results,

where it appeared that parties identified as populists, aka far right.

It doesn't quite translate, but it's proximate.

Did well. They didn't dominate. They did well. The center still held, but McCrown rolled the dice and called a special

election so that suddenly the national rally led by Marine La Penn is doing extremely well in the polls and coming in second

according to the polls this is France the left parties are a coalition of

coming in leaving mr. McCrone's self-evended party of two terms elected

president of France in third place, meaning as Gideon Rockman, the chief political correspondent for the Financial Times says,

Macron is left with very little in the way of power in the remains of his term,

because the far left and far right parties will dominate the conversation,
