Hello there I'm Chuck Todd and this is the Chuck Todd cast so the Supreme Court

will release more opinions this week on policies ranging from race-based affirmative action to student loans.

But a deeper analysis of politically charged court battles take us away from Washington

and into the states. Nationwide rulings happening in the states are already

changing the landscape on apportion and trans issues including gender

affirming care. On Tuesday a federal judge struck down Arkansas's ban on gender-affirming care for children.

This comes as at least 19 other Republican-led states have similar restrictions on the books,

and as we near the June 24th anniversary of the Dobbs ruling overturning Roe v. Wade, which was the federal

protection of a right to an abortion.

The fight over abortion access is also raging in the states, where 14 to date have adopted nearly total bans on the practice.

Fascinatingly enough, and Iowa, the state's High Court prevented a six-week ban from going

into effect last week in a rare split three decision.

The Oklahoma Supreme Court also struck down to anti-abortion state laws as unconstitutional

late last month.

And on Tuesday, New York's legislature passed a bill stipulating that the state's courts would shield New York

health officials who provide telemedicine abortion to a patient in a state with an abortion

ban from being prosecuted. So what else have we learned this week a survey released today by

the Kaiser Foundation reveals that most OBGYNs are worried about the

effects of revoking the federal right to an abortion,

with more than two-thirds of them saying the Dob's ruling has worsened their ability to manage pregnancy-related emergencies, particularly in these states that have bans.
