So Russia is now poised for a full-scale invasion of Ukraine if they want.

Diplomacy talks are taking place this week between Russia and France, Russia and the UK,

and of course Russia and NATO.

Meanwhile, the U.S. diplomatic boycott of the Winter Olympics looks like, well, a none

issue.

And that's to be con.

Secretary of State Anthony Blinken is in Australia.

negotiations continue with a rot over a nuclear agreement.

Let's just say it's a busy time for diplomacy around the world and a busy time for a little

bit of saber wrap.

I guess today John Hudson, National Security Reporter at the Washer Post, and Abigail Williams,

our lead producer and off air reporter for NBC News at the State Department.

Abigail, let me just start with, let's start with the Russia situation and whether State

Department is now believing that this is not going to get resolved soon, that actually

we may now be months away, not weeks away.

They concur that that's what Putin's Putin looks like he's up to now.

I think that there's still in a holding pattern is they're waiting for a Russia response

to their latest written response.

They got caught up in a tit for tat and currently are not presenting any timeline for when

they expect to hear back.
