Thank you. it is for our work. Thanks again, and now let's get into this week's episode. The state's trial against Greg Lance began on Wednesday, October 10th, 2000, with the jury

selected by lunchtime on the very first day. The jury was to be sequestered,

and they were told to pack for a few days, check into a hotel, and then return to the courtroom.

Circuit court judge Charles Lee presided over the trial, and he told the jurors, quote,

make whatever arrangements you need to make, kiss mama goodbye or daddy goodbye or whoever you need

to kiss goodbye, the dog, the cat, the canary, or whatever,

tell them you are being held captive by a judge from Marshall County, Tennessee in the criminal

justice complex in Putnam County. He told them they would only be there for three or four days,
