We wanted to hear his perspective, what he's seeing in this country right now.

professor at institutions like Harvard, Yale, Princeton, and then, of course, as an author

of several best-selling critically acclaimed books,

like Keeping Faith, Race Matters, and Black Prophetic Fire.

He's one of the foremost public intellectuals we have living and working today.
