I came in and I'm, you know, at this point, just a couple weeks away from delivery

and just heard the words that I never thought I would hear, which were just, I'm sorry.

And just had a moment to acknowledge what he was telling me that there was no heartbeat and that our baby had died.

Susan was devastated, but we reminded her of God's unfailing love.

And so focus on the family really was monumentally instrumental in teaching me this truth and healing me.

And the resource of focus on the family was teaching me to grieve with hope.

your children. It can be a little challenging and we had 15-year spread for our children, so it was really

hard to do something to engage the youngest and the oldest.

I think, Danny, we tried just a boatload of things.

We did kind of pre-packaged devotionals.

I tried reading out of various books.

I tried engaging them directly with the

scripture. One more recent memory is we went through a little condensed version of Rick Warren's

book, The Purpose Driven Life. It's just two little pages summarizing a chapter. And that went down

like a lead balloon. It was like, I don't need to know that. It's like,

well, the first chapter is it's not about you. So maybe you do need to know about this. What'd be intentional though, John? Look at that. You kept, you kept that. I was undaunted. We're going to do this. So I'm John Fuller along with Dr. Danny Werta, who leads our parenting team. and how about devotions?
