How do you just start a kitchen herb garden if you have no experience, but you do like to cook and you want to maybe use some

basil, sage, oregano, etc. in your cooking. Let's get to it. The first thing you

want to consider is what herbs do you actually like to eat and cook with?

I see a lot of people and myself included when I started out just growing whatever herbs qualified as herbs.

Maybe you saw them at Home Depot or a gardening store

and you said, OK, I'm just going to grow all those herbs.

Well, at least for me, I successfully did grow those herbs,

and then I found out that I don't really like using time in my cooking personally.

I don't cook a lot of things that require it and if I was to add that as just a flavoring on top of a simple recipe.

I personally don't prefer it.

So why would I grow it?

So take stock and figure out the herbs that you actually enjoy.

For me, that would be rosemary, basil, chives. That's my holy trinity of herbs that I personally

enjoy. So those are the herbs that I grow in my little kitchen herb garden.

Next thing you're gonna wanna do is figure out

do I want to plant from seed or do I wanna buy some seedlings

and starts and then just plop those in some soil and go from there.

Seedlings are going to be a bit more expensive because the price of, let's say, one

basil seedling or a little flat of basil seedlings is going to be the same price as a

packet of basil seeds which will grow you effectively as much basil as you're ever
