First and goals for the Eagles and Hertz

and the Eagles power into the end zone with the tush-bush. That makes the fireworks go off. Eagles lead 13 to 6 at the half. Early in the third, Dan Campbell and the Lions facing fourth and five. Remember he's calling the plays now. Goss trying to get it to Williams, but he can't. but he can't. Listen, this was great coverage. Cooper DeGine made it hard for him to get off the line of scrimmage, errant pass, turnover on down. Lions go for it on fourth and goal. And Gough finds Amadrass St. Brown, but it falls in complete. The Eagles hold Detroit again on fourth down. Less than 90 seconds to play in the quarter. Lions, four than three, Gop can't connect with St. Brown again. So the Eagles defense clamps down on Detroit. Philly goes on to win.

16 to 9, and Philly's defense put together its finest performance of the season in the 16 to 9 win over the Lions on Sunday night football.

The Eagles front consistently beat Detroit's O line, which sped up Jared Goff,

who completed just 38% of his passes posted his lowest total QBR in a game since 2022.

You know, why is that Eagles defense just so effective right now?

The Eagles front seven to a man is playing out of their minds. It's not just one player,

and that includes the linebackers as well. But I do want to say this. I think that when all of said and done, the trade for Jalen Phillips will go down as one of the defining moments of the 2025 NFL season. He was unbelievable in this game. And because the defensive tackles in Philadelphia are so often doubled, Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, who was unbelievable in this game.

By the way, he gets one-on-ones. Now, this is Detroit. So a one-on-one against Peney Sewell is not a normal one-on-one, and he still won inside on Penae-Suel of all people. And you saw that open-up opportunities, Nikobie Dean coming through on the Blitz on one side at one point. I just think he's been absolutely

fantastic. He is not the only reason why they're getting that level of pressure, but you see

the impact that he has had on this entire group. Yeah, five batted balls for me were a huge

...
