So let's say for the sake of argument that you're the mayor of Seattle, Washington, and your

labor leaders in that community want you to get all lathered up about the fact that Starbucks

will not let their people unionize. Let's say that mayor stands up in front of a microphone

and you decide you want to say at a rally that you think everybody should boycott

Starbucks and they should never buy another one of their products. What do you think Starbucks

Starbucks has done, not exactly as a result of that, but

coincidental with that, is decided to expand a headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee, that will

employ some 2,000 people and apparently save Starbucks something like $12,000 per employee per year compared to the tax rate in Seattle.

Some of the workers, Steve, in Seattle, are saying, well, we don't want to move to Nashville.

And of course, they don't have to move to Nashville.

Starbucks will find people for those six-figure jobs in Nashville.

Do you think, I mean, Starbucks is not known as some sort of bastion of conservatism,

but when even Starbucks has had enough of Seattle, I think it's sending a signal to municipalities,

to states, and to governing officials.

Well, here's the thing.

Seattle, excuse me, Starbucks leaving Seattle is entirely just impossible.

That would be like Boeing leaving Tacoma.

It could simply never, ever happen.

Oh, wait, Boeing did leave Tacoma.
