This is the first and only exception we're making to our no hour longs rule. And I'll explain why we're doing it. Mike is an artist and designer for location-based entertainment, which is live events, immersive entertainment, and theme parks, possibly some theme parks you have enjoyed. but he's here with us today to discuss a show

about space people. Mike, can you state for the record your relationship with the various

Star Trek programs? It's been with me my whole life, basically. I can't even remember the

first time I watched Star Trek. Did your parents watch Star Trek? Yes, my dad did, but I kind of

ran with it.

So it's like a family religion.

Sort of.

Yeah.

Yeah.

I wouldn't go that far, but yeah.

Why is it meaningful to you?

I think growing up queer, I was like aware I was different at a very young age.

And I think why Star Trek so appealing is that it kind of offers, you know, a universe,

obviously, where it's very diverse and differences are welcome.

But I think also, you know, I don't know if I'm on the spectrum or whatever.

I kind of understood at a young age that the world wasn't built for me.
