Hello and welcome to the Monday February 18th 2019 edition of Tesla Daily on

0:12.2

official Tesla Podcast. My name is Rob Maower, just a quick

0:15.2

episode today, not a whole lot going on with the markets closed for President's Day,

0:19.4

and I did have to work a little bit late. It seems like the main news item was Tesla removing its estimated delivery

0:24.9

time for the standard range model 3 from the website. There used to be an estimate of four to six months,

0:29.8

I believe was the timeline for the standard range on the order page that is no longer there.

0:34.4

However, as pointed out to me by Chaz 828 on Twitter, thank you.

1:03.4

I think regardless of what the website says we all should be expecting that timeline to

1:07.2

maybe slip a little bit as it has for I don't know a year and a half now.

1:11.6

But this change to the order page is not influencing my expectations there.

1:16.0

There's almost no upside to Tesla displaying that information especially on the order page.

1:21.0

When you have someone in your storefront considering buying your

1:24.5

product the last thing that you want to do is say hey check out this other product

1:29.2

that we're going to have in six months that you can buy instead of the product that is available right now.

1:34.4

The only advantage to doing that is that potentially that person being aware of that offering

1:39.6

that's coming in the future might decide to withhold purchase of a competing option to wait until that future

1:45.6

option becomes available from you.
