Let's call to mind all those we've promised to pray for.

I want to continue to pray for a little Eli Skok

who is at children's mercy who will be undergoing another surgery tomorrow.

I got a message from his dad that he's persevering.

So let's carry him through with our prayers and let's call to mind all those other people that we've promised to pray for.

Today is St. Patrick's Day.

Surprisingly, Patrick wasn't from Ireland.

He was from Britain.

He was born around 385 at a time when Ireland was still

completely pagan.

Britain, in contrast, is one of the first places on earth to receive

the gospel. As earliest 200, Tautolian mentioned that the haunts of the Britons inaccessible to the Romans had been subjugated to Christ.

But Britain had grown cold to Jesus.

Even though St. Patrick's father was a deacon and his grandfather, a Catholic married priest,

Patrick says that, I did not then believe in the living God, not even when I was a child. Nor was he alone in this. He and

thousands of other Britons were captured by pirates, enslaved and sent to Ireland,

and he says, we deserve this because we had gone away from God and did not keep his commandments.
